  1. Sales interviews are inclined towards knowledge of the field, strategizing and leadership. The interviewer wants to know what all knowledge and skills you possess, will you be able to crack leads for them. 
  2. If you’re a good sales person, you should be able to sell yourself in front of the interviewers. If you’re not able to sell yourself, how are you going to sell their product? You’ll also be representing them in the marketplace so keep this in mind throughout the interview. More than ever, businesses are looking for sales people who offer solutions to their clients’ problems. 
  3. You should prepare questions about specific areas. In particular, you should be ready to be asked about key sales principles and practices such as handling objections, qualifying potential clients, closing the sale etc. Adaptability, persuasion, negotiation, and presentation skills are all important skills for a sales person. 
  4. You need  to have a good grasp of relevant data,  trends and sales cycles. So always look at the latest blogs, press articles, sector-specific magazines and official information to gain as much information as possible.
  5. Show some customer service skills as sales is all about its customers so it is very important to know how to deal with them. You can discuss some of your real life experiences about dealing with the customer or prepare some imaginary situation to deal with the potential.  

Bonus tip – speak in whatever language you feel comfortable. Don’t pressure yourself to speak in English. Remember you express yourself best in the language you are comfortable in so keep this in mind before going for an interview.
